Alternative Ending Project

Directions: You will be creating a one (1)-page alternative ending for one of the short stories you've read in your reading groups.

Assignment Requirements:

  • The story you choose must be different from "Lamb to the Slaughter" or "The Tell-Tale Heart"
  • You must identify and use the author's original voice in your alternative ending
  • You must use three (3) literary devices/craft moves in your project, with at least one (1) being a literary device
  • A visual element (picture or drawing) that represents the theme of your alternative ending must also be included
  • Finally, a reflective paragraph explaining how you continued the author's original voice, which literary devices/craft moves were used, and the role of the visual element will be turned in with the final product

Final projects (including the final draft, visual element, and reflective paragraph) are due on:
Monday, April 25th (Sections A/B/C/D)
Tuesday, April 26th (Section E)

*Final projects MUST be printed BEFORE the beginning of class on the day they are due. No class time will be given for students to print their final drafts and 5 points will be taken off for every day the assignment is handed in late.
